Pastor Janet Volk has been serving the congregation of Northlake Lutheran
Church since June 2001. She grew up in Palos Heights, Illinois and
has lived in Chicago and Rockford, Illinois as well as in Florida and
Wisconsin. Pastor Volk is a graduate of Valparaiso University and
Emory University. After working for over fifteen years in
health care administration, she heard God’s call to ministry and began
her theological education first at Loyola University, and then at the
Lutheran School of Theology at Chicago. Prior to Northlake, Pastor
Volk served at St. James Lutheran Church in Western Springs.
She is active in activities of the wider church, including being a
member of the Metropolitan Chicago Synod Council. Pastor
Volk is
mom to college students, Andrew and Elisabeth.
In her free time, she likes to sing (in a local community college
chorus), work out, and read
